YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE WINE TASTING EVENT RAISES $2,500 FOR PARTNERSHIP WITH CHILDREN

Partnership with Children’s Young Professionals Committee hosted a not-so-ordinary wine and cheese tasting in November. In addition to Chardonnays, Cabernets and Camemberts, wine flavored sorbet was served to over 200 guests. Sponsored by Wine Cellar Sorbets, Astor Wine & Spirits and World Import Distributors, Inc., the event took place at Cue Art Gallery in Chelsea. The highlight of the evening was the delectable desserts provided by Wine Cellar Sorbets, the ‘adult dessert for sophisticated palates’. Owners Bret Birnbaum and David Zablocki served a variety of flavors including Riesling, Rose, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Hosted by its Young Professionals Committee, the Winter Wine, Cheese & Sorbet Tasting raised $2,500 for Partnership with Children, Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded to strengthen the emotional, social and cognitive skills of at-risk children so that they can succeed in school, in society and in their lives. Founded in 1908 as Big Sisters, Inc., Partnership with Children is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.
YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE SUMMER BLOCK PARTY RAISES $5,000 FOR PARTNERSHIP WITH CHILDREN
Partnership with Children’s Young Professionals Committee celebrated the start of the steamy season at their successful Summer Block Party 2007, held on June 14th. Over 250 guests enjoyed the views from the Top of the Times, an open bar featuring contributions from V2, Everglo, and Heartland Brewery, ice cream donated from Ben and Jerry’s, and a live DJ. To complete the block party theme, guests were treated to Sabretts hot dogs from a mini hot dog street cart, snow cones, and fresh popcorn! There were many chances to win fantastic raffle prizes, such as home plate tickets to a Yankees game and Broadway show tickets. Times Square was the perfect spot to kick off the summer and raise close to $5,000 to support Partnership with Children’s work and mission. Congratulations to co-chairs Diana Yu, Robyn Foo and Katie Miller, and many thanks to the entire committee, for a job well done.
