Partnership with Children's JHS 265 Students Get Last Chance to Use Polaroids at International Center of Photography in June FUNDay

On Tuesday, June 10, 2008, nine middle school students from Partnership with Children’s JHS 265 in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, teamed up with volunteers from High Water Women in a FUNDay Polaroid bookmaking workshop at the International Center of Photography.
Equipped with Polaroid cameras, the student and volunteer teams journeyed to Bryant Park where they attempted to capture the feeling of “heat” in their photographs. Students and their volunteer partners explored the park, taking photos of everything from sunbathers to cups filled with ice. Afterwards the teams edited and sequenced the photos into books which the students took home. The event not only gave students a final chance to use the recently discontinued Polaroid film, but also provided them with individualized attention from positive role models.
Thank you to all the High Water Women who braved the heat with our students. It was a memorable and fun afternoon for everyone!
