PARTNERSHIP WITH CHILDREN RINGS THE NASDAQ CLOSING BELL

At 4pm on Friday January 5th 2007, eighteen New York City public school students rang the NASDAQ closing bell in Times Square, along with Michelle Sidrane, Executive Director of Partnership with Children. The students are participants in Partnership with Children’s Open Heart-Open Mind program, which operates in sixteen schools across New York City, including PS 46, PS 67 and PS 140 in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
Upon arrival at the NASDAQ MarketSite Broadcast Studio, Vice President Maribel A. Aber introduced Partnership with Children and displayed its logo on the seven story MarketSite Tower video screen outside. The entire ceremony aired live on the NADAQ website and key global television networks including CNBC, CNN, Report on Business, New Tang Dynasty TV and Bloomberg.
Partnership with Children was invited to participate in this tradition because of the valuable services it provides to at-risk children in New York City. By sending teams of experienced social workers into the city’s most disadvantaged schools, the Open Heart-Open Mind program helps children manage their feelings so that they are able to spend their energy on learning.
